April Jobs Report
May 2, 2014 - By Staff Writer

The jobs report for April is out, and the numbers are good, in fact, unemployment is at a 5 1/2 year low to 6.3 percent exceeding April expectations by 78,000 jobs to 288,000 vs estimates of 210,000.

Construction showed significant job gained adding 32,000 jobs, technology sector improving as well. Retail and food services had gains of 33,000 and 35,000 respectively, and business and professional services added 75,000, and Healthcare brought in 19,000 jobs.

We expect the trucking and transportation sector to continue to improve as it will benefit from these job gains. These numbers should also give confidence to banking and finance resulting in loosening up certain lending restrictions for small businesses.
