September Jobs Report

The September jobs report that came out today (two weeks late due to the government shutdown) shows a gain of 148,000 non-farm jobs which is below the projected 180,000 jobs that were expected. The unemployment rate came down to a five-year low of 7.2% but there are uncertainties because a lot of the jobs gained are part-time jobs and others are below education level. The October jobs number which is due to come out on Nov 8th should have more specific figures but overall a 7.2% unemployment rate has to notch up the economic recovery even if at a slow pace.
